Sattam Alsubaiee

Alsubaiee is currently an Assistant Professor at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). His areas of expertise include Big Data management systems and analytics, scalable storage and search engines, indexing and query processing techniques, and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Prior to joining CCES, Alsubaiee worked on the Apache AsterixDB and Hyracks open-source projects as a key member, focusing on building scalable storage engines and advanced spatial indexing techniques.

Alsubaiee is also currently working as a Software Engineer at X15 Software, which is a startup in the Bay Area focusing on building next-generation Big Data management solutions targeted for large-scale machine and log data.

Alsubaiee received his bachelor degree in Computer science from King Saud University. He then received a master degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. Alsubaiee completed his PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine.
