Center for Complex Engineering Systems
Faisal Aleissa is a Research Specialist at the Center for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Faisal graduated in 2013 from King Saud University (College of Computer and Information Science) with a Bachelor degree in Information Systems.
Since joining CCES, Faisal has been working on two projects: City Schema and City Dynamics. His work in City Schema involves the development of a multi-modular Decision Support System that provide collaborative decision making capabilities. His effort in City Dynamics includes the analysis of large streams of data to understand the dynamics of cities using data mining and machine learning techniques. So, He used mobile phone communications to analyze the communication and information sharing behavior during extreme events.Faisal’s research interest mainly include Big Data analysis, Data Mining, Decision Support Systems, Data Visualization, Machine learning.
