Center for Complex Engineering Systems
Abdullah Alkhenani is currently a Research Specialist at the Center for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Abdullah Alkhenani has a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) where he graduated as the valedictorian of his class. His senior project at KFUPM focused on studying the effects of both sharp leading edge and rounded leading edge on the aerodynamic loads and moments over delta wing using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Abdullah later completed a summer internship in the Saudi Aramco aviation department where he was involved in rotational assignments included involvement in the heavy maintenance checks for Boeing 737-700 and EMBRAER 170.
At CCES, Abdullah is working as part of the Strategic Solar Desalination Network (SSDN) project team where he is applying his skill sets on modeling thermal desalination systems powered by solar energy as well as developing a Multi-Disciplinary Optimization (MDO) model and framework for desalination plants and network within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Abdullah's research interests are in mathematical modeling, optimization, aerodynamics, gas dynamics, astrodynamics, propulsion and computational fluid dynamics.
